Who we are
Nested is an Ontario homebuying platform. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, reach us at support@nested.ca.
What we collect
If you join our early-access waitlist, we collect your email address. If you create an account, we also collect your name and email, along with anything you save while using Nested: favourited homes, saved searches, and any affordability inputs you enter into our buyability tools. When you use our AI-powered search, we log a de-identified version of your search text to improve how search works over time. If you use voice search, we receive only the text of what you said, never the audio itself (see “Voice search” below).
Voice search
The microphone button in our search box uses the speech recognition built into your browser. When you tap it, your browser asks for permission to use your microphone, and it only listens while voice search is switched on (the button turns orange).
To turn your speech into text, your browser sends the audio to a speech recognition service run by the browser's maker, for example Google for Chrome or Apple for Safari. That service may also receive technical information such as your IP address and device details, and it handles your audio under its own privacy policy, not ours. Some browsers, such as Firefox, don't support voice search, and it may not work in others, such as Edge.
Nested does not receive, record, or store your audio. We only receive the text that comes back, which appears in the search box for you to review and edit before you search, and which we treat like anything else you type into search. Voice search is optional, so typing always works. You can decline the microphone permission, or change it at any time in your browser's site settings.
How we use it
We use your email to let you know when Nested launches in your area and to share product updates. If you have an account, we use your data to run your account and personalize your experience by showing your saved homes and searches when you come back. We do not sell your personal data.
Third parties
We use Mailchimp to send waitlist and launch emails (see Mailchimp's privacy policy) and Supabase to host our database and manage accounts. If you use voice search, your browser's own speech service also handles your audio, as described above.
Unsubscribing / your choices
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at support@nested.ca at any time to be removed from our list or to ask about the data we hold on you.

We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes.
